Roblox is not under a complete UAE-wide ban in 2026: players can generally download the app, sign in, buy Robux, and join experiences, while certain text or voice communication features may remain unavailable. Before blaming the connection, check the account’s age verification, parental controls, communication settings, app version, and Roblox service status. If those checks pass, this guide shows how to use BearVPN to test whether the remaining problem is tied to the UAE network location.
September 8, 2026. Availability can vary by account age, parental controls, verification status, device, and future regulatory updates.
Is Roblox Banned in the UAE in 2026?
No. Roblox is not currently subject to a complete nationwide ban in the United Arab Emirates.
Players in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the other emirates can generally access the Roblox website and app, sign in, and play user-created experiences. This is different from the full UAE block introduced in 2018.
However, access to the platform does not mean every Roblox feature is available. In September 2025, Roblox and the UAE’s TDRA announced that certain communication features would be temporarily disabled while the companies worked on stronger child-safety protections, Arabic-language moderation, and parental controls.
Therefore, the most accurate 2026 answer is:
Roblox itself is not banned in the UAE, but some Roblox chat and communication features remain restricted.
Is Roblox Banned in Dubai?
No. Dubai does not have a separate full ban on Roblox. The UAE-wide status also applies to users in Dubai: the platform is generally playable, but certain communication features may be unavailable.
If Roblox opens normally but the chat icon is missing, this usually points to a communication-feature restriction, account setting, age-check requirement, or parental control—not a complete Dubai Roblox ban.
Why Is Roblox Chat Restricted in the UAE?
Roblox chat restrictions in the UAE are primarily connected to child-safety concerns rather than a new ban on the entire platform.
In September 2025, Roblox and the TDRA announced changes intended to create a safer online environment for children. These included temporarily disabling certain communication features, improving Arabic-language content and communication moderation, and strengthening parental controls.
The restrictions were introduced in response to concerns associated with open communication on gaming platforms, including inappropriate contact, cyberbullying, harassment, and exposure to unsuitable content.
It is important to describe this as a chat or communication restriction. Calling it a complete Roblox ban would be inaccurate because UAE players can still generally access and play experiences.
When Was Roblox Banned and Unbanned in the UAE?
Roblox has been banned in the UAE before, which is why new restrictions often cause confusion.
The UAE’s former Roblox ban therefore lasted from 2018 until it was confirmed as lifted in 2021. The 2025 communication restrictions did not reinstate the former platform-wide ban.

When Will Roblox Chat Come Back in the UAE?
No confirmed public date has been announced for the full return of Roblox chat in the UAE.
The September 2025 announcement described the communication changes as temporary, but it did not give a restoration date. Roblox has since introduced broader age-check and age-based chat protections globally, although the company states that feature availability and age groups can vary by region.
Completing an age check may be required to use chat where the feature is available, but it does not guarantee that UAE-restricted communication features will appear.
Be cautious with social media posts claiming that Roblox chat will return on a specific date unless the information comes directly from Roblox or the UAE’s TDRA.
Roblox Works but Chat Is Missing: What Should You Check?
Before changing your connection, check whether the missing chat feature is caused by your account or Roblox settings.
- Confirm that Roblox itself loads. If you can sign in and join experiences, you are not facing a complete UAE platform ban.
- Check your age-verification status. Roblox requires an age check for chat wherever chat is available. Follow only the official Roblox verification process.
- Review parental controls. A linked parent account may limit communication, direct chat, or access to certain experiences.
- Check communication settings. Open Settings, go to Privacy or Parental Controls, and review the available communication options.
- Update and restart Roblox. Fully close the app, install pending updates, and sign in again.
- Check Roblox service status. A temporary platform outage can affect chat, joining, or account features in multiple countries.
- Consider a regional restriction. If Roblox works but the relevant communication setting does not appear at all, the feature may still be unavailable for your region or account.
Test Whether the Problem Is Related to Your UAE Network Location
If Roblox works normally but chat remains unavailable after you have checked your age verification, parental controls, app version, and communication settings, your network location may be one of the factors affecting feature availability.
BearVPN lets you change the IP location presented by your connection and test Roblox through a server outside the UAE. It includes 2,000+ servers across 50+ locations, strong obfuscation, and split tunneling for apps or domains on supported devices.
A VPN cannot override Roblox age requirements, parental controls, account-level restrictions, moderation actions, or platform policies. Chat availability is not guaranteed because Roblox may use account and regional signals in addition to an IP address.
- Try a nearby non-UAE server.
- Route only Roblox with Split Tunneling.
- Reopen the game after connecting.
How to Test Roblox With BearVPN
- Fully close the Roblox app.
- Download and open BearVPN.
- Select a nearby server location where the relevant Roblox communication feature is available.
- Connect to the server before reopening Roblox.
- Launch Roblox and check whether the chat or microphone option appears.
- If nothing changes, disconnect the VPN and review your Roblox account age, parental controls, and communication settings.
For better gaming performance, test nearby server locations before using a distant US server. A shorter network route will usually provide lower latency.

Is It Legal to Use a VPN for Roblox in the UAE?
VPN technology is not automatically illegal in the UAE. Businesses, banks, remote workers, and individuals commonly use VPNs for security and privacy.
However, UAE cybercrime law can impose serious penalties when a false or third-party IP address is used to commit an offence, conceal an offence, or access services in an unlawful way. A VPN does not make prohibited activity legal.
Use BearVPN only for lawful privacy, security, and connectivity purposes. Do not use it to evade age requirements, parental controls, account enforcement, or UAE law. If you are uncertain about a particular use, seek current local legal advice.
How to Get Cheap Roblox Gift Cards in the UAE
Roblox is a free-to-use online gaming platform that enables users—primarily children—to create and play games developed by other users. It offers a vast array of user-generated content across various genres, fostering creativity and social interaction among players. Users can purchase items and upgrades using a virtual currency called Robux, which can be obtained through real-world purchases or gift cards.
Roblox gift cards are available in various retail stores across the UAE. These gift cards allow users to purchase Robux or a premium membership directly from the platform. The cards typically come in different denominations, enabling players to choose how much they wish to spend on in-game purchases.
Additionally, you can also use VPN to purchase cheap Roblox gift cards in the UAE by accessing international retailers that may offer better deals or discounts not available locally.
Conclusion
In summary, while Roblox as a platform is accessible in the UAE, its in-game text and voice chat features remain restricted due to TDRA child safety mandates. For players looking to restore full voice chat or access regional deals, using BearVPN provides a practical solution.
